Privacy Policy

What we collect

We only collect what you type into a form. Nothing is gathered in the background, and you can browse the whole site without giving us anything.

• Early Access form (homepage) — your name, email address, the interest you select, and any message you write.
• Consultation request (services page) — your name, email address, the service and budget range you select, and your message.
• App waitlist forms (on each app page) — your name and email address.
• Leaderboards (games and quizzes) — the display name you choose and your score. Pick a nickname rather than your real name if you would rather stay anonymous.
• Multiplayer quiz rooms — the nickname you enter and your score for that round.

Why we collect it

Only to reply to you and to send the release announcements you asked for. We do not use your details for anything else, and we never sell, rent, or share them.

Where it is stored

• Early Access entries, consultation requests, and multiplayer quiz rooms are stored in Firebase Realtime Database, a Google LLC service, in Google's europe-west1 region. All traffic is encrypted in transit.
• App waitlist forms are handled by Formspree, which forwards the submission to our inbox.
• Leaderboard scores are stored on the CS42.org web server itself.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Two third parties do receive a request when a page loads: Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces, and Firebase on pages that use a form or multiplayer. Both can see your IP address as part of that request, as any server does.

Multiplayer features

The multiplayer quizzes connect to Firebase to run live games. Room codes, nicknames, and scores entered there are used only during the game session and are visible to the other players in that room. Please do not enter anything private as a nickname.

How long we keep it

• Waitlist and Early Access entries are kept until we send the launch announcement, then deleted.
• Consultation messages are kept as long as needed to handle your project enquiry.
• Multiplayer rooms are short-lived and cleared once the game is over.
• Leaderboard entries stay until the board is reset.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their details. If you believe a child has submitted a form, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Email hello@cs42.org at any time to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will action deletion requests promptly.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
